Toronto Real Estate up 6% Mid-January
Toronto Real Estate up 6% in terms of volume as of January 18th, 2007, TREB announced. TREB president Dorothy Mason highlighted the strong December results as the driving force between the new year sales growth:
“The strong activity we saw in December has carried through into the new year,†Mrs. Mason said. “Though these are very preliminary results, it is definitely an encouraging sign for the market to be so active this time of year.â€
According to TREB, the Toronto Downtown East neighbourhood (C08), saw an increase in sales of about 32% over mid-January results from last year. The neighbourhood is benefiting from increased exposure and renewed interest in the East End, particularly King St, Adelaide & Queen east.
Overall, prices remained steady and active listings increased slightly to 17,283 compared to 16,517 one year ago. This should bode well for both Buyers and Sellers as more inventory means greater options.
