Often times, people don’t realize that selling your home requires a bit of planning and a “clean sweep” of sorts. De-cluttering your home and getting it ready for sale is often the most important and easiest thing home sellers can do to help them sell it faster and for a better price.
Here are 5 Great Tricks to Selling Your Home:
- Declutter: Clear out furniture not needed and put it in storage or give it to charity.
- Air Freshen: Nobody likes the smell of pet odours or the smell of smoke. No stale cooking smells or any other noticeable odours. And forget “fresh baking” scents or scented candles. A proper airing of the house with a good scrub and replacement of carpets (if needed) is the way to go
- Preventative Maintenance: Make any necessary repairs and required work before your potential buyer moves in. A Move In Ready home is much more attractive than a home that requires work.
- Do The Baby Test: Your house needs to be clean enough that you wouldn’t mind your baby or another baby playing on the floor. If your home is not that clean, then get to work
- Brighten Up: Open up blinds, turn on all the lights, make sure your house is nice and bright. Dark homes feel claustrophobic and unhappy. Bright homes give the feeling of space
