Market Watch > April 2007 Numbers
Best Day Ever & Best Month Ever! Toronto Real Estate has never seen a more active market. According to the Toronto Real Estate Board, April 30th 2007 saw the highest ever one day sales volume with 581 homes sold. Furthermore, April 2007 saw a total of 9,452 Toronto Lofts, Toronto Condos and Toronto Houses sold in a one month period. Toronto’s price rose 3% compared to April 2006, with the average price of a home in the Toronto Area climbing to $379,025 for the month of April 2007.
There is still hope for buyers according to Dorothy Mason, TREB’s president. “Despite the torrid sales pace,” Ms. Mason said. “Overall price increases are holding at marginally above the inflation rate, which means that potential first-time buyers are not being pushed out of the market.”
